TV Acting Up On Christmas? - Follow These Tips

By Sean D. Stephen

TV entertainment, particularly during festive season like Christmas, is something you do not want to miss. If it comes at, just at that time, you need to take emergency action. Tackling it may be done in any one of the following ways:

1. Use the manufacturer's manual for the set to see if you can handle such simple problem a tuning, clarity etc. if the disorder is within your capability to solve, you save on repair charges.

2. The visit of a TV technician, even for an assessment of what is wrong with the TV is a costly affair. If the cost of repairs is added, you may start thinking of other viable and less expensive propositions.

3. Steps may be taken to get over the Christmas period without spending, if it is possible. If you have not disposed of your old Television set, it may be brought out and use it. The bedroom TV will also be useful.

4. You are lucky, if the repair has become necessary during the warrant period as the retailer will have to attend to it free of cost.

5. If the set you have is on rent, the repairs will be done free as per the contract covering manufacturing defects and breakdown. That saves you good money, being spent on getting it repaired.

6. In case, the set is quite old and you feel that spending a big amount on repairing it, is not justified, the option is to purchase a new TV. But, the ideal time to purchase a new TV is January.

7. In case, you are keen saving on repairs in future, a good option is to go for rentals. The best available TV will be yours for viewing, something you can never think of, as it may be beyond your purchasing power. It is a worthwhile consideration.

8. If you decide on the rental option, look for it immediately, in time for X-mas.
