By Eddie Keys

Beginner piano sheet music is one of the first steps you will have to tackle when learning to play the piano. There are many options out there to get piano music from. Figuring out the best music for a beginner can be tough.
The tried and true way to get piano music is from your piano teacher. They will know what skill level you are and what music will fit your needs. It's when you don't have a piano teacher that things become a little more tricky.

If you don't have a piano teacher as a resource then another option is to go to a local music store. They will definitely have sheet music that suits beginners. A music store should also have employees that can assist you in finding music.

Another option that is readily available nowadays is to find music on the internet. You can buy sheet music from online stores such as Amazon and have them sent to you. There are websites out there that will provide access to their sheet music for a membership fee. Some will also give the option of just purchasing individual songs if you like. The great part about searching for sheet music online is that there is a good chance you will find some for free.

The key to picking out the best sheet music for you is to make sure it's at your skill level. If you look at it and are instantly confused then it's probably too difficult. Check the key signature to make sure it is in a key you are familiar with. Look over the types of notes to make sure you know what they are. Overall, you just need to make sure that the songs you pick coincide with the exercises you are currently working on and the skills that you possess. You want the music to be within you skill level, but also be a little challenging so you are learning.
