But when you listen to piano sonata, you have narrow peaks at a few frequencies in the sound spectrum at any given time. The clear wireless transmission should have a certain threshold for "clipping" for any narrow frequency range. I would have preferred to have a nice manufacturer booklet. The packaging was so secure that it took me some time to actually get into the box.
I wish it were a little heavier because it's hard to turn the base on and off with one hand without pushing it over. The headphones fit easily over the top for storage and charging.
I cannot recommend these headphones enough. It has fantastic sound quality, range, looks and style.
They twist and adjust quite a bit to fit different size and shaped heads. The base is modern and nice looking. The sound is great, as is the range. First pair received was DOA. Now that I am able to hear so well again, makes the Sennheiser RS 180 Headphones well worth their cost. I have/had both multiple wired/wireless headphones, so I've put together a mental list over time, of what worked, and what hasn't.
They have the advantage of distance over the pioneers. The pioneers have more volume but these are OK. I find having the base besides the TV flashing at me all the time even more annoying than the complete idiocy of buttons that you can't feel. This is utterly ridiculous engineering.
SACD were demoed both as 2-channel & Multi-channel. The initial impression with the RS 180's is their extreme musicality. Maybe a knob on each ear pad would be better. You could memorize which way to turn the knob.
I have never given anything five stars until this product came along. Having previously owned the earlier RS 160, I knew the quality of these "cans." I ventured about my backyard with them on and at 60-75 feet from the base they tended to cut in and out. I have the base unit behind my flat screen to keep it away from the grandkids, and I'm sure if I had it higher the range would be sufficient enough to go 75 plus feet. Very pleased with the RS180 and well worth the additional cost. These headphones are great. However, the headphones and base don't seem to be constructed with particularly high-quality materials. The plastic feels light and thin -- which could be a positive, but makes me, wonder whether they could break easily.
