Pre-Party Considerations To Arrive at The Party With Full Of Energy

By Mary Hawker

The party hostess for your little 'at home' party has been instructed, there is a huge guest list, you got to get your act together, the dog is going ballistic for a walk and the baby won't stop screaming. Help please! I need my tranquilizer, right now!

Hey, hey! Do you really want to walk in like a stressed out, exhausted salesperson? We don't think so. So, what's the solution? How about following these pre-party suggestions? These parties have stood the test of time and are sure to help you get there in the best of moods.

1. Whatever directions your hostess has given you, reconfirm them and also search them out online. You should be well aware of the place you will be going to. Also, make a point of printing out reverse directions so that getting home isn't too much of a hassle.

2. Do not forget to pack up and ready your kit the night before the show or on the morning of it. If possible, have it stashed in your car already because these little steps will cut down amazingly on the last minute rush.

3. Do not make the mistake of waiting till the eleventh hour to pack your kit. Do it the before or on the morning of, your show and have it ready and waiting in the car to cut down on the last minute hassle.

4. Any night when you are not out working be sure to cook at least two meals to make up for nights when you are away. Get your husband's or eldest child's help to smooth over the transition time and avoid a bit of the last-minute stress. If the children need babysitting ask around for at least two babysitters you know you can rely on because you never know when you might need to call on backup.

5. Music! Keep a CD of your favorite, upbeat numbers in the car so you can de-stress and relax on the way. This way you will arrive fresh and in a positive mood.

And keep in mind the important fact that these pre-party preparations are mostly about you! So arrive at the party with the best possible attitude so that the guests have fun. This will guarantee the success of your home party.
